Millions of British households fall into fuel poverty

Around 2.3 million British households are severely affected by fuel poverty, with home owners struggling to pay energy bills and having to cut back on all other spending in order to afford keeping their house warm, research commissioned by prepayment energy supplier Utilita Energy was able to reveal.

Findings suggest that one third of people (33%), have had to make cutbacks in order to afford their utility bills, with some having to choose between heating their homes and putting food on the table, while more than half of people (55%) said they had cut back on essential groceries to pay their energy bills.

Utilita managing director Bill Bullen said: “These results demonstrate the continuing hardship being faced by many families across the country and really underline why it’s important to plan ahead to avoid difficulties in the colder months, when energy costs are likely to be higher.”

If you’re also seriously concerned about the prospect of slipping into fuel poverty (or, unfortunately, you’re already there, but you want to do something about it), then it’s time to take a look at the HeatingSave system.

HeatingSave allows customers to achieve immediately savings of up to 30%+ on their energy bills. This is achieved by optimizing the energy consumption levels within any building with the help of an advanced heat-loss algorithm that creates a specific profile for any building and based on that, switches heating on later if its warm and off earlier if its cold. It also automatically adjusts your boiler depending on how warm it is outside – save up to another 10%.

Furthermore, the system also offers an advanced automatic occupancy detection system that allows the temperature to reduce to a background when areas are not used and quickly brought up to temperature when they are being used.
