More than a third of people in the UK are concerned about their heating bills, study reveals

Around 38% of people living in the UK are very concerned regarding their future energy bills, a BBC Radio 5 live survey has revealed.

The study involved 1,035 adults and was conducted by ComRes, who interviewed people by telephone between 30 August and 1 September 2013.

Beside expressing their serious concerns regarding the continuous energy bill hikes, an impressive 63% of respondents revealed that they were forced to reduce energy use in order to mitigate for the higher costs, while 25% of people had put up with “unacceptably cold” homes in the past year as they struggle to pay bills.

Additionally, close to 75% of people participating in the survey revealed that the UK’s energy costs are unreasonable, and 69% said the firms should be nationalised.

As far as solutions to this problems are concerned, 84% of people participating in the survey would welcome more solar panels in their area, while 67% of people said they would support more coal, oil and gas stations being built in the UK if it brought energy prices down.

Given these dire prospects, the idea of implementing energy saving measures within one’s home is becoming increasingly important, and a Building Energy Management System such as HeatingSave is the thing to go for.

The HeatingSave system allows home owners to cut energy bills by up to an impressive 30%+. It is built around the idea of optimizing the energy consumption levels within any area with the help of an advanced heat-loss algorithm that creates a specific profile for any building and based on that, switches heating on later if its warm and off earlier if its cold.
