UK was just six hours away from running out of gas in March, says report

Concerns regarding the UK’s reliance on gas imports have surfaced again after a report from the Crown Estate suggested that Britain was just six hours away from running out of stored gas in March.

On the other hand, according to a new report, the National Grid, which pipes gas around the UK, insisted the UK has “substantial resilience” and diverse supply sources including imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG).

Unfortunately, such situations are likely to occur on the future as well, not to mention the fact that they might actually lead to a series of significant gas price hikes (as you might already know, this year’s bout of cold weather led to some significant profit boosts for the most important energy suppliers out there).

For this reason, it’s perhaps a good idea to start planning ahead and consider installing a heating control solution that will allow you to actually save money on the bills regardless of the weather hazards. And this is exactly where HeatingSave comes into play, given the fact that our advanced system can help you easily save around 30 percent on your energy consumption by using a variety of temperature and occupancy detection and heating control technologies.
