Most construction companies fail to implement proper energy monitoring solutions

The majority of firms in the construction segment have no policy to record their energy and emissions use, a recent survey of 300 major building and manufacturing firms across the globe has been able to reveal.

The survey conducted in the UK, Nordics, USA, Canada, Brazil and Spain found that, although 68% said they would be focusing on reducing carbon emissions and energy consumption in 2015, half admitted they had no company-wide programme to record what they were doing.

Building Energy Management Systems are capable of delivering extensive monitoring and control options, compared to basic controls. They typically employ data from a variety of sources (boiler flow and return sensors, internal and external temperature sensors, occupancy sensors, humidity sensors, etc.), and enable the perfect optimization of a building’s boiler-based central heating system.
