HeatingSave wins Best New Business 2009 award

Over 300 guests packed into the Burgess Hall, St Ives on Friday to see the announcement and presentation of The Hunts Post Huntingdonshire Business Awards 2009. Guests at the awards gala dinner dug deeply into their pockets raising over £1,400 for the maternity unit and special care baby unit at Hinchingbrooke Hospital.

Neo-natal facilities were among the services retained at the hospital two years ago following campaigns by the Hunts Post and petitions organised by local MPs Jonathan Djanogly and Shailesh Vara, who attended the dinner. Jonathan Djanogly is well connected with business, being shadow Solicitor General and a shadow minister in the Department for Business Innovation & Skills (BIS).

HeatingSave entered for the keenly contested Innovation Award, sponsored by the Greater Cambridge Partnership, and took home a certificate for being one of the three finalists.

HeatingSave also won outright the “New Business of the Year” award, sponsored by Haines Watts a Huntingdon based firm of chartered accountants. BBC TV presenter Stewart White handed over the award to HeatingSave’s management team. Stewart said “HeatingSave Ltd of Hail Weston have developed a spectacularly successful PC-based energy saving system for homes and offices”.
