Massive funding allocated for improving heating systems in more than 1,000 homes in Aberdeenshire

A local council has allocated an impressive £11.5million for improving the heating systems in more than 1,000 homes across the north-east, a recent news report in the local media has been able to reveal.

The text on Public Contracts Scotland website reads: “Heating systems are upgraded as part of an ongoing stock improvement programme and approximately 600 properties per annum require gas fired central heating systems to be replaced or installed to replace coal, oil or electric heating systems.

Last night Raymond Christie, vice-chairman of the council’s social work and housing committee, said tenants could expect cheaper bills as a result of the new system.

He said: “People staying in council houses will get an upgraded, much more modern heating system that will be cheaper for them in the long run. Being more efficient means they are better for the environment too. There are still a lot of houses with old heating systems and the scheme will hopefully address this. ”

With HeatingSave, every home turning any household into a smart, energy-saving smart home

Implementing specific smart control solutions designed to improve the level of heating efficiency across both domestic and commercial buildings is yet another factor that could help reduce energy consumption (and, with it, carbon generation), and that’s specifically where Building Energy Management Systems come into play.

Building Energy Management Systems are capable of delivering extensive monitoring and control options, compared to basic controls. They typically employ data from a variety of sources (boiler flow and return sensors, internal and external temperature sensors, occupancy sensors, humidity sensors, etc.), and enable the perfect optimization of a building’s boiler-based central heating system.
