Over 30% of managers don’t know who their energy supplier is, poll suggests

Almost a third of company managers and directors don’t really know who their energy supplier is, which means that they can’t opt for the best available deals, statistical figures obtained from a new market survey have revealed.

The poll was commissioned by Westinghouse Solar and revealed that, out of 250 finance directors, managing directors, CFOs and CEOs from small to medium sized firms (SME) that answered the questionnaire, almost 30% didn’t know who their supplier was.

Additionally, six in ten businesses (60%) were unaware of how much their company’s electricity bills had gone up over the last five years, a news report on the matter can reveal.

James Carpenter, Managing Director of Westinghouse Solar, commented: “Three-quarters of business leaders didn’t even know how much they were paying per quarter, really shockingly a third of those didn’t even know who their energy supplier was.”

He also added that businesses were missing out on energy savings: “They’re busy guys, they don’t have a lot of time to do research into alternatives. It was quite shocking to find that businesses aren’t really benefitting enough from the likes of solar power and other energy efficiency measures.”

Advanced BEMS (Building Energy Management System) solutions represent one of the top energy efficiency measures organizations of any scope and size can turn to, given the fact that they enable a superior level of control over the heating system and its extensive optimization, thus leading to lower overall consumption levels.

And this is exactly where the HeatingSave system might prove its worth, since our solution allows customers to achieve immediately savings of up to 30%+ on their energy bills. This is achieved by optimizing the energy consumption levels within any building with the help of an advanced heat-loss algorithm that creates a specific profile for any building and based on that, switches heating on later if its warm and off earlier if its cold.

It also automatically adjusts your boiler depending on how warm it is outside – save up to another 10%.

Furthermore, the system also offers an advanced automatic occupancy detection system that allows the temperature to reduce to a background when areas are not used and quickly brought up to temperature when they are being used.
