Scottish Parliament to Support Business Energy and Resource Efficiency Scheme

The Scottish Parliament has joined the national Resource Efficiency Pledge scheme, a programme of Zero Waste Scotland, which works with businesses to help them reduce both their running costs and carbon emissions.

As an Ambassador, the Scottish Parliament will work with businesses to promote the scheme and support them to make savings. In doing so the Parliament has committed to embedding resource efficiency in its own operations and actively contributing to achieving a low carbon economy for Scotland.

David McGill, Scottish Parliament Assistant Chief Executive said:

“The Resource Efficiency Pledge is a chance for the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body to build on its already ambitious environmental targets. Our plan to reduce our carbon footprint by 42% by 2020 from the baseline year of 2006 is on course to be achieved and the carbon management plan continues to deliver reductions in our carbon emissions.”

HeatingSave – save energy and money with full monitoring options

Building Energy Management Systems are capable of delivering extensive monitoring and control options, compared to basic controls. They typically employ data from a variety of sources (boiler flow and return sensors, internal and external temperature sensors, occupancy sensors, humidity sensors, etc.), and enable the perfect optimization of a building’s boiler-based central heating system. They also fully support heat meters and use the data to run the heating system as economically as possible.
