22% of British home owners “can’t be bothered” on energy efficiency

Although they’re not happy with their ever growing energy bills, up to 22 percent of British home owners “can’t be bothered” when it comes to implementing energy efficiency measures, a new market research study carried out my energy company npower has revealed.

According to a news report on this matter, the study involved a segment of 2,000 respondents and provided some really interesting insights into the mindset of the average UK home owner, with some figures being quite unexpected, by all accounts. Probably the most shocking of all was the fact that 22% of people said they “can’t be bothered” to install energy efficiency measures, while four in 10 British householders believe they “cannot afford” to be energy efficient.

Nevertheless, nine in 10 people answered that they have heard of energy efficiency and nearly three quarters (72%) are well aware of the fact that it can help save money on their bills.

And while 62% said they have installed “quick and easy” energy saving measures such as insulation and draught proofing, only 5% have invested in longer term improvements such as solar panels and 0.3% have installed biomass boilers. Just under half (45%) of householders also said they are conscious of the effect their energy use has on the environment but nearly a quarter believe their actions won’t make a difference.

Installing an efficient and effective Building Energy Management System, such as HeatingSave, is one of the best solutions available at hand for boosting any building’s energy efficiency levels.

The HeatingSave system allows home owners to cut energy bills by up to an impressive 30%+. It is built around the idea of optimizing the energy consumption levels within any area with the help of an advanced heat-loss algorithm that creates a specific profile for any building and based on that, switches heating on later if its warm and off earlier if its cold.

Additionally, the automatic occupancy detection allows the temperature to reduce to a background when areas are not used and quickly brought up to temperature when they are being used.

If you’d like to find out more information on the HeatingSave system and the way in which one can take advantage of it, just contact our dedicated team, they’ll be more than happy to answer all of the questions and queries you might have.
