60 percent of consumers have zero confidence in energy companies, survey reveals

The brand news Consumer Insight Tracker survey by Which? has revealed some rather disturbing facts regarding the consumers’ level of trust in the energy industry, with roughly 60% of all people who answered the questionnaire saying that they don’t trust energy firms at all.

In fact, at this time, energy suppliers are the most distrusted companies in the consumer industry sector, compared to banking (33%), car salesmen (55%) and train companies (27%). Additionally, more than half of people participating in the survey said energy is now the top of their list of worries, with 84% concerned about prices.

Which? Executive Director Richard Lloyd said: “The number of people worrying about energy prices has rocketed while trust in the companies has plummeted.

“What we have heard from the Government so far is too little and too late for the millions of hard pressed consumers worrying how they will pay for their energy bills this winter. Consumers need to see radical changes now.”

Given these facts, it’s perhaps the best time to start investing in a solution that will enable consumers to optimize their energy consumption.
