£9m energy efficiency scheme goes live in Devon


One of the UK’s largest energy suppliers has revealed plans to launch a new energy efficiency scheme worth £9 million in partnership with the local authorities in Devon, a recent news report on the matter was able to reveal.

Energy firm E.ON will partner will enter a partnership with nine local authorities and Devon County Council, with the aim of helping local residents living in energy inefficient homes reduce their energy bills on the long-term.

Councillor Andrew Leadbetter, Devon County Council’s Cabinet Member responsible for economic growth, said the scheme will also create new jobs for the local economy.”Behind the contract with E.ON will be a team of people within Devon helping to administer the scheme, as well as a network of local firms ready to deliver the home improvements. It will also employ local expertise, including local community groups and charities, to promote the scheme to Devon residents.”
