Beat soaring dual fuel tariffs with microprocessor heating control
Ofgem is considering forcing electricity and gas suppliers to offer a basic tariff to protect customers against soaring bills. It is one of the options being considered as part of the regulator’s investigation of the energy market. It is understood that Ofgem has not yet approached companies about the measure. Ofgem launched its inquiry in November, after saying that annual profit margins on standard household dual-fuel tariffs have rocketed.
While Ofgem deliberates, customers can take immediate steps to save around 15% to 30% off their fuel bills with HeatingSave. Its controller, which is fitted to your boiler and replaces the time clock, houses a state-of-the-art microprocessor. This is connected to a number of temperature sensors measuring the external outside temperature, room, hot water tank, and heating flow and return temperatures. It constantly calculates and improves the efficiency (and savings) of your central heating system. Among its many features, HeatingSave switches off the boiler early on warm days at the end of the heating period – saving up to another 8% of fuel.
