Co-operative Energy to launch low-cost self-serve energy tariff
An energy supplier has announced the release of what they consider to be the UK’s most affordable energy tariff for home owners, averaging £989 every year.
Co-operative Energy has just announced that their ‘Fair and Square’ tariff will be the cheapest in the UK, but in order to access it, customers will have to take their own meter readings, have a dual fuel supply from Co-operative Energy, only pay by direct debit and only be able to access their billing information online.
The tariff will be available to 10,000 customers – old and new – on a first-come-first-served basis.
Ramsay Dunning, Group General Manager at Co-operative Energy said: “Fair and Square is a ‘no frills’ energy product where we have stripped out the additional customer service elements to bring the cost down as low as we can. The energy itself is exactly the same but for a little more effort, customers can benefit from the cheapest tariff in the UK.”
While eliminating the customer service-related costs is certainly a very interesting approach that’s guaranteed to save users some money, optimizing one’s energy expenditure is certainly another, and this is specifically where HeatingSave could put its extensive experience in the field to very good use.
The system optimizes any boiler’s overall functionality. This is done by taking into account a variety of factors, such as internal and external temperatures, occupancy, time of the year, the particular characteristics of installed boilers, etc. All of the data is used in order to determine the best heating patterns for the various heating zones within any building, using our proprietary heat-loss algorithm.
