East End households urged to start saving on their energy bills

Home owners across London’s East End are being urged to start saving on energy and join an energy co-operative that could grant them access to cheaper gas and electricity, a news report in the local media was able to reveal recently.

The local authority in Tower Hamlets has decided to set up the Community Power scheme in order to offer residents more negotiating power when dealing with energy companies. It is currently estimated that such a scheme could help families save an estimated 150 pounds on their overall energy bills.

Energy companies compete to give best prices in the annual auction based on market forces in the supply industry. The company with the most cost-effective tariff provides a free estimate of comparative energy prices when the auction closes.

The Tower Hamlets scheme is part of the Big London Energy Switch campaign for collective buying for households across London.

While switching tariffs in order to get the best possible deal is certainly a step forward, but installing a solution designed to slash energy usage and bills by up to 30%+ is what every home owner should really look at, if they want to save money.

The HeatingSave Building Energy Management System helps customers save more than 30% on their bills by optimizing any heating system’s overall functionality.
