Energy UK asks for higher efficiency on Green Deal and ECO schemes

Trade association Energy UK publicly asked Climate Change Minister Greg Barker to help impose a higher level of efficiency for the Government’s flagship energy efficiency schemes – the Green Deal and Energy Company Obligation (ECO), a news report reveals.

The letter sent by Energy UK chief executive, Angela Knight, points out a number of problems with the Green Deal and ECO, and specifically calls on the government to share its data on which households are living in fuel poverty, in order to help companies identify areas to target for free insulation under the ECO scheme.

She also warns of a number of problems with software for carrying out Green Deal assessments and argues that some of the government’s energy efficiency policies remain too complicated.

The letter sets out seven recommendation, including calls on government to do more to raise public awareness of the Green Deal “We also note that, despite the initial burst of publicity and the cash back scheme, the public is mostly unaware or uncertain about these schemes,” she added. “In particular, they are unclear as to the detail and seek necessary assurance to participate and that assurance must have the underpinning of Government.

The HeatingSave technology is registered on the Government Energy Technology List, which means that users can easily obtain Green Deal funding in order to have the system installed.

Plus, since it enables home owners to cut energy bills by up to an impressive 30%+, HeatingSave is the perfect energy-saving measure to implement, given the huge long-term savings it enables.

The system is built around the idea of optimizing the energy consumption levels within any building with the help of an advanced heat-loss algorithm that creates a specific profile for any building and based on that, switches heating on later if its warm and off earlier if its cold.

It also automatically adjusts your boiler depending on how warm it is outside – save up to another 10%.

Additionally, the automatic occupancy detection allows the temperature to reduce to a background when areas are not used and quickly brought up to temperature when they are being used.

If you’d like to find out more information on the HeatingSave system and the way in which one can take advantage of it in conjunction with the Green Deal program, just contact our dedicated team, they’ll be more than happy to answer all of the questions and queries you might have.
