School District to Attain Massive Savings after Deploying Energy Saving Measures

A school district will attain massive energy savings over the next 15 years after deploying a host of energy saving measures, a recent news report has been able to suggest.

The Lynwood Unified School District in Lynwood, California will save $4.3 million in utility costs over the next 15 years after undergoing a 2-phased energy efficiency improvement project.

Seven of the district’s least efficient elementary schools, along with its administrative office building, underwent energy retrofits that included the installation of comprehensive LED lighting, web-based energy management, wireless lighting control systems and upgraded HVAC systems.

The energy efficiency upgrades that the district has pursued are exceeding the estimated energy savings by an additional 9% annually. This equates to a reduction in electrical costs of 34% —representing approximately $234,000 in annual savings.
